Bore Ivanoff - the pure representation of an enigmatic unintelligibility

Originally from Eastern Europe, Boré Ivanoff is a self-taught artist living and working in Paris since 2001.
Bore Ivanoff's painting, "Cartier Foundation II", was included in the international exhibition of finalists of the biennial of modern figurative art, Figurativas 23 at the MEAM Museum in Barcelona.
He is represented by the gallery "Cygne Noir" in Tours, France.
Since 2012, Boré Ivanoff has mainly painted views of Paris. The City of Lights is his main source of inspiration. He is one of the few contemporary painters who dare to depict extremely sophisticated and complex, but infinitely fascinating patterns, which are mirrored reflections, captured on urban glass surfaces.
At the first visual contact with Bore's works, the viewer is struck by the sensation of figurative and chromatic chaos... but at the same time, we intuitively feel, we are convinced that these works have their specificity, their aesthetic complexity, their ambiguity, their extreme sophistication, their refinement, their intelligence, and above all, they are the pure representation of an enigmatic unintelligibility.
Works of art that are an ultimate refusal to reconcile with banality, a kind of defense against the conformist modern world.
Bore's paintings are absolutely baroque, over saturated to the point of explosion, where the viewer's eye has nowhere to stop and rest, but rather feel a visual and chromatic abundance, intrusiveness and dizziness.
Their anamorphic and hallucinatory character, as well as their extreme flexibility of suggestiveness, are crucial elements of their unintelligibility and their ambiguity.
The artist manipulates shapes and colors and reinvents reality to make it subtly abstract, but still recognizable. In his compositions where interiors and exteriors intertwine and seem inseparable, Boré experiments and explores the boundaries of reality. He uses the distortion of reality through reflections as a tool to recontextualize that reality. This is why his paintings no longer cling to the irritating and conventional representation of a recognizable motif, but escape into a new ambiguous fiction, making it timeless. A work which represents neither a physical nor metaphysical entity outside itself, and which resists any attempt to fit it into existing categories.
Bore Ivanoff has a dynamic international career, with his works exhibited in several European countries and included in various public and private collections.

Au premier contact visuel avec les œuvres de Bore, le spectateur est frappé par la sensation d'un chaos figuratif et chromatique... et en même temps, on sent intuitivement, on est convaincu que ces œuvres ont leur spécificité, leur complexité esthétique, leur ambiguïté, leur extrême sophistication, leur raffinement, leur intelligence, et surtout, ils sont la pure représentation d'une inintelligibilité énigmatique.
Des œuvres qui sont un refus ultime de se réconcilier avec la banalité, une sorte de défense contre le misérabilisme enraciné du monde moderne, conformiste.
Les peintures de Bore sont absolument baroques, sursaturées au point d'exploser, où l'œil du spectateur n'a nulle part où s'arrêter et se reposer, ressentant une abondance visuelle et chromatique, intrusive et vertigineuse.
Leur caractère anamorphique et hallucinatoire, ainsi que leur extrême flexibilité de suggestivité, sont des éléments cruciaux de leur inintelligibilité et de leur ambiguïté.
L'artiste manipule les formes et les couleurs et réinvente la réalité pour la rendre subtilement abstraite, mais toujours reconnaissable. Dans ses compositions où intérieurs et extérieurs s'entremêlent et semblent indissociables, Boré expérimente et explore les frontières du réel. Il utilise la distorsion de la réalité à travers les réflexions comme outil pour recontextualiser cette réalité. C'est pourquoi ses peintures ne s'accrochent plus à la représentation irritante et conventionnelle d'un motif reconnaissable, mais s'échappent dans une nouvelle fiction ambiguë, la rendant intemporelle. Une œuvre qui ne représente ni une entité physique ni métaphysique en dehors d'elle-même et résiste à toute tentative de la placer dans les catégories existantes.
Bore Ivanoff mène une carrière internationale dynamique avec ses œuvres exposées dans plusieurs pays d'Europe et incluses dans différentes collections, publiques et privées.
